About this Agency

Welcome to my website. I'm lucky enough to be able to do the job I love, working with authors in my adopted country, the United States of America, as well as in Great Britain. I grew up in England and worked in print journalism as a writer, sub-editor, production editor and literary editor for 15 years before setting up my own successful freelance business, providing editorial and editing services to IBM and many other corporate and private clients.

After immigrating to the United States I studied Fine Art at the University of Utah, specialising in Painting and Drawing. The twists and turns of my life's journey led me to establish my own literary agency, allowing me the great pleasure of  weaving together the many strands of my lifelong interests, which include a passion for literature, music, art and design, and the encouragement of talent.

The last few years have shown us that we really are living in interesting times. Caught in an often confusing torrent of news, information and wildly diverging opinion, we look for seasoned, sensible and gifted writers to tell our stories and light our way.  The best writing entertains, inspires and informs. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to represent some of our most talented writers of literary fiction and non-fiction who bring penetrating insights and fresh perspectives to today's readers.

E-book technology, no longer in its infancy, is bringing exciting new opportunities for writers and readers, although the digital evolution is the subject of widespread conjecture and passionate debate. For some fascinating reflections on how e-books will coexist with print books, take a look at acclaimed novelist and book man Sonny Brewer's thoughts here. Sonny, whose fourth novel The Widow and the Tree was published in 2009 by MacAdam/Cage, also shares his thoughts about his latest project Don't Quit Your Day Job: Acclaimed Authors and the Day Jobs They Quit, an eagerly-awaited star-studded lineup of writers including John Grisham, Pat Conroy, Cassandra King, and a host of other brilliant storytellers, which will be published by Mark Pearce at MP Publishing in October 2010. In this unique collection, heavy hitters and bright new talents alike turn a writerly eye on their day jobs—the ones they were advised not to give up.

To my mission I bring experience of life on three continents and an unswerving commitment to my authors’ interests, so that they can continue doing what they do so well - writing great books.
